Sarma, Bart Magnus & Thomas Crombez present a collection of the texts of Pieter T'Jonck, since 1983 dance and theatre critic for several papers and magazines. In April a first selection of these texts will be published online, and Sarma puts up a short laboratory in which Pieter T'Jonck and four performers of the multidisciplinary master's course DasArts, Janneke Raaphorst, Bojana Mladenovic, Noberto Llopis Segarra & Zhana Ivanova will experiment with the different forms of entering and leaving the stage. The results of this experiment will be shown in a borrowed light design of Etienne Guilloteau. The Lecture Demonstration ends with a simulated radio interview, a practice Pieter T'Jonck has been developing lately in addition to his newspaper reviews.
'There is an enormous confusion, I feel, about what theatre is or what it does.
The more of it I see, the more I'm convinced that theatre or dance is less about a story or a message or whatever, but basically revolves around the question of how we see and approach each other, how we shape this in one way or another. The problem – because it is always a problem – is reflected in the moment of entering and leaving a stage. In real life this is a theatrical moment, and so in theatre it is even the most important moment. You could possibly derive the quality of a performance from the intelligence with which this problem was solved. It is this specific solution that generates the content, and not the text. Theatre criticism however mostly bases itself on the content, not the form or shape. I aspire a theatre criticism based on an analysis of the shape – the problem of entering and leaving being a pars pro toto of it.' (Pieter T’Jonck)

In 2009 stelt Sarma samen met Bart Magnus en Thomas Crombez een tekstcollectie samen van het werk van Pieter T’Jonck, een theater- en danscriticus die al sinds 1983 schrijft voor verschillende kranten en tijdschriften. In april wordt een eerste selectie online gepubliceerd en naar aanleiding daarvan organiseert Sarma een kort labo waarin Pieter T’Jonck met vier performers van de multidisciplinaire masteropleiding DasArts, Janneke Raaphorst, Bojana Mladenovic, Noberto Llopis Segarra & Zhana Ivanova experimenteren rond verschillende vormen van opkomen en afgaan. De resultaten worden getoond in een geleend lichtplan van Etienne Guilloteau. De Lecture Demonstation eindigt met de simulatie van een radio-interview, een praktijk die Pieter T’Jonck de laatste jaren heeft uitgebouwd in aanvulling op zijn krantenrecensies.
'Naar mijn aanvoelen is er een enorme verwarring over wat theater is of doet.
Hoe meer theater ik gezien heb, hoe meer ik er van overtuigd ben geraakt dat theater
of dans minder gaat over een of ander verhaal of boodschap of wat dan ook, maar
wezenlijk te maken heeft met de kwestie hoe we elkaar zien en benaderen, hoe we
daar op een of andere manier vorm aan geven. Dat probleem – want een probleem
is het in zekere zin altijd – wordt par excellence weerspiegeld in het moment van
opkomen en afgaan. Dat is in het gewone leven een theatraal moment, en dat is
uiteraard in het theater zelf het allerbelangrijkste moment. Je kan bij wijze van
spreken de kwaliteit van een voorstelling afmeten aan de intelligentie waarmee dat
probleem opgelost wordt. Het is die oplossing die in zekere zin de inhoud genereert,
en niet de tekst. Nochtans vertrekt de theaterkritiek meestal vanuit de inhoud,
niet vanuit de vorm. In toenemende mate streef ik naar een theaterkritiek die
een analyse van de vorm – waarvoor het probleem van opkomen en afgaan
een pars pro toto is – tot uitgangspunt neemt.'

Sarma, Bart Magnus et Thomas Crombez présentent une anthologie des textes du critique de danse Pieter T'Jonck, dont une première sélection sera mise online en avril. A cette occasion, Sarma propose une expérience basée sur une recherche menée par Pieter T'Jonck et quatre étudiants de la section d’éducation interdisciplinaire de DasArts, Janneke Raaphorst, Bojana Mladenovic, Noberto Llopis Segarra et Zhana Ivanova, sur les différents modes d'entrée et de sortie de scène. Les résultats de cette expérience seront présentés avec un plan lumière d'un spectacle existant d'Etienne Guilloteau. Lecture Demonstration se conclut avec une fausse interview radio, une action de plus en plus fréquente pour Pieter T'Jonck.
